If you're like me and your best friend is quirky and socially awkward and you think it's cute and lovable, this book will be right up your alley. From cheese puffs to kitchen fires, there were times I wondered how much of Tatum's experience had been plucked from real life...because you just can't make this stuff up.

Harper did an amazing job of weaving a tale of Half Truth through a love story that will have you rooting for the characters and laughing through your tears. Another well-done book by a fabulous author.

The Half Truth Leddy Harper Kendall Taylor Brian Pallino 9781721343492 Books Reviews

I love a good comedic romance. Notice I did not call it a “rom com.” I could agree with some reviewers who thought it was too much about the sexy parts and not enough about actual substance. While that is somewhat true; the laugh out loud parts make up for it. After all, no one expects this type of genre to be completely realistic. If that were the case, why bother anyway? This one delivers a relaxing, not too serious vacation of the mind.
Great book!!! I really enjoyed reading this book! I figured eh it'll be alright like all the others lately well not at all!! I really loved it! This is Tatum and Jason book, I simply loved Tatum quirkyness! Lol her character was really funny and quirky and clumsy lol Tatum is a studying to be a chef and ends up working with her ex and his new girlfriend! Jason is her best friends cousin and a reformed playboy!! Her best friend doesn't want them together and a bunch of really funny things happen and they get together in secret! Like I said this was a really funny and great story line! Definitely don't miss out on this one! Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me!
This book cracked me up so much. I love these two! Ok, I also may have cringed my way through the entire thing. No not the writing. It was Tatum. All Tatum. 🙄

Tatum girl, what is wrong with you? How did you manage to get yourself into all these situations throughout the entire book? Sure, hilarious, but cringeworthy. 🤣 That'll teach me to tell a little white lie.

The banter between Jason and Tatum will have you laughing for days. I loved Jason's quick wit. Like he instantly had a rebuttal for any situation and it was hilarious.

This book had the perfect mix of laughs and steam to make it one of the best rom-com's I've read in a while. I highly recommend for all the laughs.
Meet Tatum Alexander. She's a determined woman. Her career is very important to her. So important that she keeps working at her ex's restaurant. Yep, no joke. And when he employs his next girlfriend they become co-worker. No joke. And then to top it off, Tatum presents her fake fictional boyfriend, Jason aka Jay. Only Jason is her best friends cousin. Fresh out of a relationship and is cured from these. They agree ona casual something, only the boundaries between real and fake are vanishing more and more.
The (Half) Truth is a entertaining read, I liked the characters and the writing, the story is ok, I know it's romance, I only wished for the heroine to have a bit more of a backbone. I give 3,75 stars.
The (Half) Truth was low on the angst, heavy on the swoon, and the right amount of sweet. This book brought all the smiles and countless laugh out loud moments. I loved the characters and how relatable they were. Just an overall enjoyable read.

Tatum is such a breath of fresh air. I loved her quirkiness and how goofy she was. She puts herself in some awkward situations that had me laughing nonstop. The best part though is the way she takes everything in stride and isn’t afraid to laugh at herself. After a hellish incident, instead of letting it get her down she holds her head high. And this starts the process of her moving on.

Jason has spent years living in Vegas, and now after a tragedy he decides to move back home to be closer to his family. He thought he’d be moving with his girlfriend, but after countless times with her circling around the decision, she’s put it off and Jason’s had enough. They break up and he moves without her. And a fresh start is exactly what Jason needs.

Tatum and Jason were the absolute cutest. These two brought the laughs and especially the fun. I couldn’t get enough of them and just wanted more. I also couldn’t get enough of Kelsey, Tatum’s best friend and Jason’s cousin. She was such a hoot. All in all, The (Half) Truth was a sweet and fun read.
Tatum is broken hearted. After dating her boyfriend for two years, he proposes and she couldn't be happier. However, on her birthday of all days, he back pedals with lame excuses. Unfortunately, he's also her boss and rather than give up all that she's worked for, she decides to tough it out. Who cares that he's hired his new girlfriend? Tater doesn't mind having a front row seat to their romance. Obviously. But she also doesn't want to seem like a loser. So what does she do? Tell a lie. And that lie just keeps getting bigger and bigger and bigger. And do you know what happens to liars? THEY GET CAUGHT!!

So now you know the gist, right? But there is so much more to this tale. Tatum is as awkward as can be, which makes for some laughs. This girl says and does the wrong things at the very worst of times, but her heart is solid. And the hero... Jason... reformed manwhore y'all!

So my thoughts
🤥 easy and enjoyable read
🤥 likeable characters
🤥 slow build romance, although the fling part started quickly
🤥 low on angst - the conflict was pretty tame
🤥 no muss, no fuss
🤥 I found it hard to buy into these characters actually loving each other because they shared virtually no screen time as a couple beyond their fling. I barely felt the chemistry, which was necessary because... fling!
🤥 Is it bad that I was more interested in Jason's cousin, Kelsey, than the main characters themselves? I wonder if she'll get a book. She definitely drove this story, even if she was only supposed to be a sounding board and advice giver.

Like I said, it was an easy read and I liked it. Between Tatum's antics and Jason turning out to be a really great guy, this story took on a life of its own. I recommend it to anyone looking for a book that will leave them with warm fuzzies
